Fetal Intracranial Hemorrhage as a Complication of Low Dose Aspirin : Detection and Management

چکیده

OF LOW DOSE ASPIRIN : DETECTION AND MANAGEMENT Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) in the fetus and newborn is a rare phenomenon with intra periventricular hemorrhage (IVH-PVH) being the most common type. The incidence of intracranial hemorrhage is higher in premature infants, occurring in approximately 25 45% of less than 32 weeks gestation or with a birth weight of less than 1,500g (Ref: 1, 2). Although the antenatal detection of fetal ICH has become possible in the recent two decades, the actual incidence of an in utero fetal ICH has not been determined. Vergani et al (Ref 3) reported that the incidence of fetal ICH in a referral centre was about 0.9/1,000. We present our experience with one patient in whom fetal ICH was detected prenatally by ultrasonography (USG) and is under stringent followup with us.

Fetal intracranial hemorrhage in a patient with intrahepatic

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is associated to unpredictable fetal risks. The mechanisms underlying poor perinatal outcomes are unknown. Intracranial fetal hemorrhage is a possible complication of ICP. A young patient presented with mild ICP and severe transaminases elevation, at 32 weeks of pregnancy. Ultrasound revealed fetal ventriculomegalia probably secondary to intracranial ...

Pnm-23: Ultrasound Evaluation of Multiple Pregnancies

Over the past 25 years the rate of twin and higher - order multifetal birth have increased between 1980 and 2005. The twining rate rose from 18.9 to 32.1 per 1000 live birth. Multifetal gestations are at high risk of fetaland complication such as; growth restricted fetal death, LBW and cerebral palasy. Maternal complication are that also increased such as: preeclampsia, diabetes, maternal death...

SECONDARY PREVENTION OF UPPER GASTROINTESTINAL BLEEDING IN LOW DOSE ASPIRIN USERS INFECTED WITHHELICOBACTER PYLORI

ABSTRACT Background: Aspirin even at low dose ( 100 mg) can increase the risk of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is usual to use low dose aspirin for cardiovascular prophylaxis. We hypothesized that Helicobacter pylori eradication is as effective as omeprazole maintenance therapy for secondary prevention of bleeding in those who take low dose aspirin and are positive for Helicobacter pylor...

The Assessment of Feto-Maternal Hemorrhage in an Artificial Model Using Anti-D and Anti-Fetal Hemoglobin Antibody by Flow Cytometry

Background: When fetal red cells enter the maternal circulation from placenta, an event would be happened that is described as feto-maternal hemorrhage (FMH). This life-threatening condition could be detected by using RBC antigens (surface antigens and intracellular antigens). Therefore, the measurement of fetal RBC in an artificial model would be useful to calculate FMH and consequently the do...

Intracranial hemorrhage in atrial fibrillation patients during anticoagulation with warfarin or dabigatran: the RE-LY trial.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Intracranial hemorrhage is the most devastating complication of anticoagulation. Outcomes associated with different sites of intracranial bleeding occurring with warfarin versus dabigatran have not been defined. METHODS Analysis of 18 113 participants with atrial fibrillation in the Randomized Evaluation of Long-term anticoagulant therapY (RE-LY) trial assigned to adjus...
